We usually recommend draught proofing as an overhaul service to sash or casement windows that are noisy, have rattle or let it excess draught.
This service for a traditional sash window consists of removing both top and bottom sashes and removal of staff and parting beads.
We then router an 8mm rebate in the mid-rail of the bottom sash and install weatherpile brush system.
We replace all sash cords to a more heavier duty nylon cord and re-balance sashes.
Weatherpile brush system is also installed on both parting and staff beads.
This service will reduce noise pollution, increase thermal properties and get your windows running smoothly again.
The service for a traditional casement window has two options;
1. Router an 8mm rebate around the perimeter of the casement unit and re-insert ensuring all gaps have be sealed
or
2. Replace original stop beads or router in around stop beads to allow a new gasket to be fitted to the frame of the window
